Abstract:

Chad Louvered was a Terrebonne Parish sheriff's deputy who allegedly stormed into a Houma bank on October 17, 1996, shot and killed a teller and took five other people hostage, two of he allegedly raped. He allegedly held these hostages for twenty-five hours until law enforcement officials resolved the situation. He was then charged with numerous crimes such as rape, murder and kidnapping.

Abstract:

On November 8, 1994 four students allegedly beat another student on board a Terrebonne Parish school bus. The alleged incident was videotaped. Martin Folse, owner of a Houma television station obtained a copy of the videotape of the alleged incident and was going to air it on his nightly newscast. However, the then Terrebonne Parish District Attorney Douglas Greenberg confiscated the videotape before it could be shown on television. He said he did this because it was evidence in a pending court proceeding that should not be shown and because he believed airing it would increase racial turmoil in the community. This file contains newspaper articles about the alleged incident.
